Every great idea begins with a problem—and ours was right in our own kitchen. Time and again, we found ourselves frustrated by poor-quality ingredients: overpriced, inconsistent, or just plain ineffective. We knew there had to be a better way.

So, we rolled up our sleeves, and in 2016 Cape Crystal was born.

Founded by Ed McCormick, a longtime food science enthusiast and now CEO, and Helen McCormick, our endlessly curious and detail-loving COO, Cape Crystal started as a shared mission between husband and wife: to make premium natural and modified organic food ingredients more accessible to everyone—from experimental home cooks to seasoned professionals.

We’re a modern, 21st-century company with an old-fashioned passion for quality. Our goal is simple: to provide affordable, high-quality ingredients that inspire creativity in the kitchen without breaking the bank.
